Vauxhall vivaro loss of clutch

We recovered in this 2008 Vauxhall Vivaro due to the customer saying that he couldn't engage any gears as he seemed to have lost all effort on the clutch pedal. We could see that the clutch pedal bracket had snapped and because of this the pedal had broken away from it's mountings.

Unfortunately we could not get to where the pedal was broken without taking out the lower dashboard. We warned the customer that it was a labour intensive job and detailed what we had to do.

We removed dashboard and various auxiliary items to get to where the clutch pedal box was mounted. The fault could not be remedied with simply attaching the pedal back to it's support so we had to replace the pedal box assembly.

We replaced the necessary components and started to rebuild the dash board. Job was completed front start to finish in 2 days and the tradesman was on his way without too much of a delay.

One of the reasons why the pedals fail is because the clutch wears and puts too much strain on the pedal box - we suspect that this is case for this van. We have pre-warned the customer that it probably requires a clutch very soon.
