Vauxhall Mokka with a heating problem

We had a 2012 Mokka into the workshop with an internal heating problem.

The vehicle was blowing out cold air only from the vents even when the heater controls were on maximum heat and the dials were set to number 4. We examined the vehicle and found the coolant level to be slightly low.

There were no apparent leaks so initially we just topped up the coolant to ensure that it was at the correct level

We had a further conversation with the customer and decided to carry out further checks.

We carried out a pressure test on the coolant tank and found it to be loosing too much  pressure. We then looked at all the coolant pipes and a carried out a general check over on the complete coolant system and coolant pipes.

By carrying out the pressure test we eventually we found the smallest hole in one of the coolant hoses.

We removed various components to gain access to all the pipework. We replaced the necessary pipe, topped up the coolant once more and then bleed through the whole cooling system to ensure the coolant was flowing correctly..

All the dials worked fine and the temperature of the vehicle was as is should be.
