The owner mentioned that when he was driving on the motorway he could feel a vibration throught the steering wheel. Before starting the cambelt renewal we checked for any obvious wear from the suspension. We found a tyre to have collapsed on the side wall. We suspect the reason why this happened was because the tyre was of poor quality. We replaced both of his tyres with good branded tyres and set up the wheel alignment.

We continued with the cambelt renewal. With this cambelt we also replaced his water pump and replaced with new coolant.

Road tested and the car drove perfectly.

The cambelt renewal on this type of vehicle is due at 120k miles or every 4 years. Whichever comes first.

Cambelt renewal time scales are different for each manufacturer. When your car is at our garage we will check when your car is due it's renewal. It is of great importance that it is renewed at the manufacturers recommended times. These times also can change over time depending on how many cambelts have fail. The manufacturer will update the data on the car accordingly. So if you were advised it was due every 6 years the updated data might change to every 5 years or it may change to every 7 years.

If you would like to know when your cambelt renewal is due please call and we'll be happy to help!
