Mini One leaking water

This Mini One came in with what started off as an investigation as to why the drivers side floor was wet. Initially we thought that perhaps the window was left open or one of the draining holes was blocked.

We re-booked the vehicle for further checks. Before that date the owner rang to say that the lights were flashing, the indicators wouldn't work and the car was having difficulty starting.

We recovered the vehicle in and started investigations.

We found that the drivers side carpet was soaking wet. We removed the drivers seat and sections of trim and found that water had been leaking in through the windscreen pillar trim and flooding into body control module causing the internals to corrode and break.

We sent the body control module away to be tested and repaired.

Once the unit was received back we then replaced the 50 pin connector on the wiring loom which connects into the body control module.

We are in the process of re-building the interior and testing for the cause of the water leak. We are still investigating as to what has happened and the final solution to plugging the leak.
