Ford Ranger grating/worn bearing type of noise when driving

Customer concern of growling/graunching type noise when driving.

A road test was carried out to confirm a worn bearing type noise when driving at low speed with an intermittent clicking/graunching noise at very low speed, sounding like from the rear of the vehicle.

Further investigation was carried out and the vehicle raised off the wheels to allow the drivetrain to be rotated.

The cause of the issue was identified as a worn prop shaft centre bearing.

The bearing assembly was replaced and a road test carried out to confirm the repair
