Vauxhall corsa with a bad water leak coming in through the bulk head and fuse box cover

This Corsa had two seperate water leaks. The first was reasonably straight-forward and was traced to the fuse box cover seals perishing and allowing water ingress into the fuse box which in turn was dripping into the passenger side footwell. We ordered a new fuse box cover, fitted it and all seems fine.

The second water leak was far more complicated. After carrying out a further water test on the vehicle the water appeared to be leaking into the drivers side footwell area. The customer had mentioned that he had previously been to another garage but they had not been able to make a permanent fix. The job ended up being massively time consuming as the technician had to strip down the scuttle panel area and remove various components. We removed the whole dashboard, pedal assembly, servo and master cylinder and found the bulkhead seal to be badly worn. We removed all the old sealant in order to give it a clean fix. After re-sealing the bulkhead plate we started to refit all other components. We noticed that the main servo seal was worn so, as it was easy to gain access, we replaced the seal. We then replaced pollen filter housing seal and refitted the dashboard and all other trim components. We then carried out a thorough water test - all was fine.

There are not many technicians or garages that would have taken on such a complicated and time consuming job but once again we believe that we have done a superb job and saved the customer a whole load of hassle and cost. A great job well done.
