This BMW 318d was recoved with a total loss of power and smoke from exhaust. We knew from experience that it was a possible issue with the turbo.

We then carried out basic diagnosis to confirm engine oil loss and presence of oil within the air inlet system. Further investigation confirming an internal turbo defect, total failure of the spindle bearing resulting in engine oil being pumped in to the air inlet tracks.

The turbo was replaced including an engine oil and filter change as best practice for this type of repair.

A diagnostic check was carried out to clear all defect codes and the vehicle road tested to confrim the repair.
