Mr David Naylor is one of the founders of Naylor cars. As one of the founders he has a number of super looking Naylor cars that over the last few years we have helped him maintain.

These Naylors are 2 seater steel roadsters based on the MG TF. The Naylors are built fantasically well using good quality components. A true British Sports car.

When his blue Naylor 1700cc first came in we needed to get it back into good shape engine wise and mechanically. We gave it a good check over and, with the customer giving us some direction on what he was experiencing whilst driving it, we found the following items requiring attention.

We attended to a concern with the front suspension by replacing the original worn out front coil overs and shock absorbers. We also attended to the rear suspension by adjusting up and tightening the drive flange.

We stripped down the engine and gearbox due to high tolerances in transmission tunnel and found that the valves were in need of re-cutting. They were removed, re-ground and then re fitted with new oil stem seals. The engine was rebuilt with all new gaskets and seals. Before the sump was refitted it was refurbished and powder coated.

To keep the engine looking in its original condition we painted it to its original colours and generally tidied it up.

We fitted a new fuel pump as the original one had fuel contamination internally.

Various other ad-hoc items were addressed as the car went through the workshop

The parts for this car are relatively straight forward to source, but occasionally we come across a part that requires modification. If so we always ask David if he requires us to supply more of that particular modified part for his future use/stock.
