Noisy brakes on a Suzuki Jimny

This 2012 Suzuki Jimny came into us with a brake warning light on the dash board and no braking effort.

Initally we checked over the vehicle's braking system and found the brake fluid reservoir empty. We found this concerning as brake reservoirs should always have an amount of fluid in them. We started to examine the mechanical brakes and found both front brake calipers leaking brake fluid. The front brake discs and pads were also in poor condition.

On removal of the brake calipers we noticed that they were so worn that there was a couple of centimeters missing from the actual piston, as seen in the image. We have never seen calipers in this condition before.

We replace both of the front calipers and replaced the brake discs and pads

The rear brakes were also in poor condition. We stripped them down and after inspection realised that they just needed a good clean up and a brake service.

We completely renewed the brake fluid by extracting old existing fluid and replaced with clean fluid.

We road tested the vehicle and were happy to report that the vehicle stopped when the brake pedal was applied (which is always a bonus!)
